Nothing is making a sound.

The bellows is the air supply. At zero, no air moves and the box is silent — exactly like the real instrument. Drag the BELLOWS knob up.

Turning reeds on and off

Each reed has a stop switch beneath it. Sa and Pa are on by default, the classic drone pair. Reeds swell in and out rather than clicking on.

Tuning a reed

Drag its peg up or down for up to 100 cents either way. Detune two neighbouring reeds slightly and they beat against each other — that's real acoustic summing, not an effect.

Changing key

Tap any key on the selector to set the tonic, and use − / + for the octave. Dragging a key instead of tapping microtunes that pitch class, and each one remembers its own offset — so you can build a tuning that isn't equal temperament and it stays put.

What ENV, MIX and LFO do

ENV is the effects chain — resonance, chorus, tape delay and reverb. MIX is a fader per reed for balancing what's already sounding. LFO gives every reed two slow free-running modulators, one for pitch and one for level. Each badge lights up when that page is doing something.

The second instrument

Tap the logo. Shruti Bot 2 swaps the reeds for four analogue oscillators with phase shaping. Your tuning, active reeds and effects all carry over — only the sound source changes.

It stops when I leave the app

It shouldn't — background audio is supported so a drone keeps playing while you practise. If iOS is stopping it, check that Low Power Mode is off, and that nothing else has taken over audio.
